If you’re thinking about getting a brand new driveway this spring now that the sun’s out, you’re probably considering your options. Gravel, concrete and tarmac are popular options, but what about brickweave? If you’ve considered it, it’s probably the best out of your driveway ideas.
Kerb appeal
Your driveway is one of the first things that your neighbours and visitors will see, so you want to make sure that it looks its best.
Brickweave is one of the most popular driveway ideas because it gives a stylish look that makes a huge impression. Bricks add more character to a driveway than a plain concrete or tarmacked surface.
Value
Improving the value of your property is essential if you’re thinking about moving. You’ll want to get more than what you paid for your home, and one of the ways to do this is to add or replace a driveway.
Brickweave looks the most attractive by far, so adding a brickweave driveway with carefully arranged flowerbeds around it will add value to your home.

How it’s done
Every driveway company will have a different way of working, but generally they will excavate any existing driveway and add concrete to make the base of the paving. This ensures that there is no subsidence and prevents any stones from coming loose over time.
A bed of sand is then added to make a flat and even surface before paving the driveway in your chosen pattern. There are plenty to choose from as pavers can work to your needs.
In the picture on the right, the bricks have had a sealant applied which gives them the glossy finish. As well as this, it makes them more hardwearing so you can have plenty of years out of your driveway.
If you’re seriously considering a new driveway, you’ll have plenty of driveway ideas milling around in your mind. But hopefully now you can see the benefits of a brickweave driveway and compare it between the other popular driveway materials.
