The red zone is the maximum safe operating pressure. If\nthey don\u2019t heat up as quickly or like they should do, it could be a sign that\nyour boiler pressure\u2019s low. Then take a look at your boiler\u2019s pressure gauge,\nwhich should confirm if there\u2019s a problem.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">What causes a boiler to lose its pressure?<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">There are a couple of common reasons why your gas boiler\npressure might be too low: either a water leak or a recently bled radiator.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Finding a water leak<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It can be difficult to find water leaks, as lots of your\npipes in your central heating system will be covered. But if you are\nexperiencing low boiler pressure, it\u2019s worth taking a look at all the pipes you\ncan see.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Check for any water on the pipework or any damp patches or\nstains. You might also notice swelling in skirting boards. Later on, you\u2019ll need to be able to check that the\npressure is at the correct level, whether that is by looking for the green area\non the gauge or by checking your boiler\u2019s manual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">3.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nTurn off your boiler<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Simple!<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">4.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nTurn the filling loop handles<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">You\u2019ll need to turn your filling loop handles at a right\nangle so they match the direction of the pipe. If you\u2019ve done it correctly,\nyou\u2019ll hear water flowing. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">5.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nWatch the pressure gauge<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Watch for what the pressure gauge does and when it reaches\nthe right pressure, make sure the handles are closed by putting them back to\nthe 90-degree position.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">6.&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;\nTurn the boiler on and check<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Turn your boiler back on and check to see if the pressure\nremains steady.
