But without much training, it can be difficult. Take a look at our 6 tips for taking better photos of your work.<\/p>\n<h2>1. Buy a good camera<\/h2>\n<p>Although many smartphones have high-quality cameras built in these days, a proper camera will still win. You don\u2019t need to get an expensive professional DLSR camera, but a good point-and-shoot device is vital. If customers want to see examples of your work, a grainy photo taken on an old phone won\u2019t do.<\/p>\n<h2>2. Your project will look much more aesthetically pleasing and will generally increase the tone of the photo. In photos that you\u2019re taking inside, let in as much natural light as possible.<\/p>\n<p>If you can\u2019t get a bright day to shoot on, consider using black and white (unless your work relies on colour!).<\/p>\n<p>If your work is all outside, try to photograph jobs you do in the summer. Trees that are bare can ruin the mood of a photo.<\/p>\n<h2>3. Tidy up before you shoot<\/h2>\n<p>Customers will be far more impressed with a photo of a stunning garden or beautifully-painted living room if they can\u2019t see all the tools and equipment around. No one is attracted to a messy room, so ensure you clean up fully. It\u2019ll also show customers that they can <a href=\"https:\/\/www.anytrades.co.uk\/guides\/truth-trust-increases-sales\/\">trust<\/a> you to clean up after you\u2019ve finished the work before leaving their home.<\/p>\n<h2>4. Use a tripod<\/h2>\n<p>Tripods aren\u2019t that expensive and they can help you take a great photo. You can get them for as little as \u00a310 on Amazon and you\u2019ll find one a great help for taking clear photos that you can line up properly. Much better than trying to steady your hands after a long and tiring day.<\/p>\n<h2>5. Take the \u2018Rule of Thirds\u2019 advice from photographers<\/h2>\n<p>To take a balanced and interesting photo, use the Rule of Thirds. This involves breaking down the scene that you\u2019re shooting into thirds horizontally and vertically. You\u2019ll end up with 9 parts. This should help keep your photo looking focused.<\/p>\n<h2>6. Don\u2019t be afraid to take multiple shots<\/h2>\n<p>Take lots of photos from different angles using the tips above and pick the best ones.
