How do solar thermal panels work?<\/h2>\n

When you invest in a solar water system, panels known as collectors will be installed on your home\u2019s rooftop. They collect heat from the sun, which is then stored in a hot water cylinder. The boiler or immersion heater is still required as a back-up and to increase the temperature so it can be used domestically.<\/p>\n

Solar panels are best fitted on a south or south facing roof, which will receive more of the sun\u2019s rays throughout the day. However, even north facing roofs will still produce plenty of heat.<\/p>\n
