1.\tGet rid of any signs of mould<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s obvious where mould starts to set in, with dark patches evident on the ceilings and walls. Mould is common in the bathroom and kitchen where there\u2019s plenty of moisture in the air and more often than not, insufficient ventilation to get rid of it. It\u2019s easy to eliminate mould too; use stain-stop paint and repaint the whole area affected. <\/p>\n

2.\tReplace your old grouting<\/h2>\n

Grouting is used between the tiles in your bathroom and kitchen walls. Particularly in the bathroom you\u2019ll find black mould where the shower water has come into contact with the grouting. Scrape out the old grouting and simply fill in the gaps to freshen up the room. <\/p>\n

3.\tRepair the walls<\/h2>\n

Don\u2019t forget to repair your walls before putting the house up for sale. Firstly, fill in any holes and dents that have appeared, before repainting where necessary. It\u2019s always recommended to paint walls a neutral colour such as beige or cream when selling, as this acts as a blank canvass for the new owners. <\/p>\n

4.\tDon\u2019t neglect the exterior<\/h2>\n

It\u2019s all well and good having the inside of your home looking spotless, but it\u2019s first impressions that count for a lot. Because of this you shouldn\u2019t neglect the outside and ensure your front and back garden are in tip-top condition. Fix and restain fencing, clean the windows and keep the driveway in a good condition.<\/p>\n

5.\tSort out any noises<\/h2>\n

This includes dripping taps and squeaking floorboards. If any potential buyer spots these they will wonder to themselves the extent of work needed on the house. With pipes you can simply tighten the valves, whilst creaking floorboards will just need screwing into the frame. <\/p>\n
