So this is your first port of call: the local boiler companies. <\/p>\n<p>But to help you understand the costs you\u2019d expect to pay, take a look at our new boiler guide, outlining a number of scenarios you could face.<br \/>\n<br \/>\n<\/br><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacing an existing gas condensing combination boiler in the same position as the previous one<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The old boiler will need to be removed and disposed of, with a replacement put in its place. <\/p>\n<p>Estimated cost: Between <strong>\u00a3540 and \u00a3660<\/strong>. <\/p>\n<p>Extra costs include a mechanical flush which may be needed for very old systems. A system flush will clear out sludge and build-up in the pipes and radiators, with prices around \u00a3510. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacing a non-condensing gas boiler with a condensing one<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>If you want to have a combi boiler fitted, the installer with need to check the gas supply and flue position. This may need removing or replacing to allow installation of the new boiler. <\/p>\n<p>Estimated cost: Between <strong>\u00a3640 and \u00a3770<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>If pipes need to be removed or moved, a further \u00a3200 to \u00a3300 will be added to the price. Once again, if you\u2019re replacing an old system then a flush may be required. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Installing a new gas condensing boiler elsewhere in the home and upgrading to the heating system with controls and radiator valves<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>As you can expect, this job requires more plumbing work than the previous two. A condensate drain will need to be installed and the flue must be routed. <\/p>\n<p>Estimated cost: Between <strong>\u00a31,140 and \u00a31,440<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A chemical flush could be necessary, which will remove debris in the system and cost around \u00a3200. <\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Replacing a gas heat-only boiler for a condensing combi boiler<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The system will need to be converted from an open-vented setup to a sealed one. Of course, redundant equipment such as the water cylinder and storage tank can be removed. <\/p>\n<p>Estimated cost: Basic jobs start from around <strong>\u00a31,440<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Any additional pipework necessary will cost between \u00a3200 and \u00a3300, whilst a mechanical or chemical flush could set you back even more. <\/p>\n<p><strong>Finding a registered installer<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Remember that when finding an installer your first priority is to select someone Gas Safe registered. Always ask for identification before the engineer carries out any work on the boiler.
