If you want to generate your own electricity, a great way to do it is to install solar panels. Solar panels are usually installed on roofs, and generate electricity by converting sunlight into electricity.<\/p>\n

One type of solar panel system is the 3kW system. It can generate approximately 2,550kWh annually, which is nearly enough to power an average terrace house for a full year.<\/p>\n

If you\u2019re considering installing solar panels on your roof, you need to do your research. To help you decide whether to install a 3kW solar panel system, we\u2019ve put together a list of its pros and cons.<\/p>\n

Pros<\/h3>\n
Generates free electricity<\/h5>\n

One of the top advantages of solar panels is that they generate free electricity. Sunlight is free, so the electricity that you generate from it is also free. The more solar panels you have, the more free electricity you can produce. So installing a larger system, like the 3kW system, is a good idea if you want to generate as much free electricity as possible.<\/p>\n

Reduces your carbon emissions<\/h5>\n

Powering your home through solar panels will also help you reduce your carbon emissions. The generation of most grid electricity adds to carbon dioxide levels in the atmosphere. But the generation of solar power doesn\u2019t. So by using solar power instead of mains electricity you\u2019re doing you bit to help the environment.<\/p>\n

Lowers your electricity bill<\/h5>\n

Generating power through solar panels can also reduce your electricity bill. This is because the free electricity that you generate through solar power replaces the electricity you buy from your power provider. So having solar panels lowers how much electricity you need to pay for and reduces your electricity bill.<\/p>\n

Earns money<\/h5>\n

\"\"Solar panels also give you the opportunity to earn money. The government\u2019s Feed-in Tariff scheme will give you money for electricity that your solar power system generates, even if you use it.<\/p>\n

You can also earn money by selling the power that you generate and don\u2019t use back to the grid. You\u2019ll get given a rate per unit for this.<\/p>\n

As 3kW systems generate more power than 1kW and 2kW systems, you could earn a lot more with this system.<\/p>\n

Cheaper than the 4kW system<\/h5>\n

The 3kW system is cheaper than the 4kW system. So if you want to generate significant amounts of electricity, but can\u2019t afford the 4kW system, the 3kW system may be the best one for you.<\/p>\n

Cons<\/h3>\n

More expensive than some systems<\/h5>\n

A disadvantage to the 3kW solar power system is that it\u2019s more expensive than both the 1kW and 2kW systems. So if you have limited cash to spend up front, the 3kW system isn\u2019t the best choice for you.<\/p>\n

Doesn\u2019t produce the biggest possible profit<\/h5>\n

The 3kW system will produce a substantial profit, but this won\u2019t be as high as the amount of money the 4kW system can generate. So if you want to earn as much money as you can, you\u2019d probably be better off installing the bigger system.<\/p>\n

Takes up roof space<\/h5>\n

The higher the number of kW, the more space a solar panel system takes up. The 3kW system takes up approximately 21m\u00b2 of space. So if you have a small roof, the 3kW probably isn\u2019t right for you.<\/p>\n
