Disadvantages

Difficult to repair

A downside to concrete is that it’s difficult to repair. You can fill in cracks and damaged areas but unfortunately this often leaves unsightly and rather obvious patches.

Prone to cracking

Another disadvantage to concrete is that it’s prone to cracking. Because it isn’t flexible like asphalt, it’s highly likely to crack in extreme temperatures or when it’s under significant pressure.

A concrete path can also be expensive. This is because concrete costs more per square metre than other materials like gravel and asphalt. So a concrete path can be expensive to install and repair, especially if it’s a long or wide one.
