Start earning thousands of pounds with the RHI

Do you want to reduce your heating bills and earn thousands of pounds every year at the same time?

Energy bills are a problem all over the UK as national gas and electricity prices continue to rise and now’s the time to invest in renewable technology.

Not only will you be able to slash you expensive bills, but as of April 9, the Government’s lucrative Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) has finally come into power.

This will help you to earn thousands of pounds over the first seven years of your system’s life.

Now you can earn a fortune for the renewable heat you generate, benefitting from an incredible return on investment and making a substantial profit over 25 years.

The RHI scheme will pay you quarterly for seven years. It works similarly to the very popular feed-in tariff for solar PV and will pay you:

  • 7.3p/kWh for air source heat pumps
  • 12.2p/kWh for biomass boilers
  • 18.8p/kWh for ground source heat pumps
  • 19.2p/kWh for solar thermal panels.

The RHI scheme has taken its time coming into prominence, with the RHPP grants subsidising homeowners who opted for renewables any earlier.

Now with the tariff payments, you can earn thousands of pounds over the seven years, whilst reducing expensive energy bills for 25 years and more.

How much will I earn?

What you really want to know is how much you can expect to earn with the RHI payments, so let’s take a look at your four options and the estimated earnings.

Solar thermal panels

Solar thermal panels benefit from the highest tariff rates so it makes sense to start here. Panels are installed onto your rooftop at an optimal angle to capture the sun’s light. This is then converted into heat for your home, taking away your reliance from the grid.

Solar thermal RHI payments: Between £1,150 to £3,250 over seven years depending on the system size.

Heat pumps

There are two types of heat pump systems available; air source and ground source. They capture natural heat, which passes through an exchanger to increase the temperature and is then used for domestic heat and hot water.

Air source heat pump RHI payments: Between £500 and £1,350 every year.

Ground source heat pump RHI payments: Between £1,400 and £3,000 every year.

Biomass boilers

Biomass boilers burn environmentally friendly products to produce heat to warm up your home. They tend to use wood pellets and other carbon neutral fuel products, which is a much cheaper way to heat the home than with national gas or electricity.

Biomass boiler RHI payments: £1,300 every year.
