Milnthorpe is a large village and also electoral ward within the South Lakeland area of Cumbria, England. Historically part of Westmorland and also straddling the A6 road, the town consists of numerous old hostelries as well as hosts a market in The Square every Friday. The parish as well as ward of Milnthorpe had a population of 2,106 recorded in the 2001 census, enhancing to 2,199 at the 2011 Census. Each August, the Friends of the Exhibition holds its yearly art exhibition in the church. Milnthorpe has two steel bands, one for adults and also the various other based in the community's junior school.
