Appleby-in-westmorland
Appleby-in-Westmorland is a market town as well as civil parish in the Eden district, in the administrative area of Cumbria, in North West England. The parish had a population of 3,048 in 2011. It depends on a loophole of the River Eden in the historical county of Westmorland, of which it was the county town. Its name was simply Appleby till the city government changes of 1974. When a follower parish was developed from the previous district, the council changed its name to videotape that of the historical area.
