Lymm

Lymm is a large village and civil parish in Warrington, Cheshire in England. Lymm was an urban district of Cheshire from 1894 to 1974. The civil parish of Lymm features the hamlets of Booths Hill, Broomedge, Church Green, Deansgreen, Heatley, Heatley Heath, Little Heatley, Oughtrington, Reddish, Rushgreen and Statham. According to the 2011 Census, the village has a permanent population of around 12350 people. Within this population, 49.1 percent are male and 50.9 percent are female. Lymm village centre is a designated preservation region, well known for its historical structures, both listed and unlisted. These consist of the French-style terracotta ex- town hall, which is at present unlisted, St. Peter's Church, Oughtrington Hall and Lodge, formerly owned by a cadet branch of the Leigh family and now Lymm High School, and Lymm Hall, an one-time Domville family home. Foxley Hall, home to a cadet branch of the ancient Booth family, before ownership passed to the Carlisle family, is no longer remaining, however fustian cutting cottages on Church Road and Arley Grove do still exist. The Parish Church of St. Peter, Oughtrington is an example of Gothic Revival architecture. St. Mary's Church, Lymm, nearby Lymm Dam was in a state of disrepair by the middle of the 1800s so the Leigh family commissioned the noted Newcastle architect John Dobson to restore it. The 1521 tower was preserved and raised, however the need for supplementary stonework rendered the tower being rebuilt in 1887. Lymm Cross, generally known just as 'the Cross', is a Grade I listed structure. A 24-hour cam oversees the landmark. Extra webcams are strategically situated around. For all of your home enhancements, be sure to find reputable contractors in Lymm to make certain of quality.

Air Conditioning Myths That are Costing You Money?

Do you wish to save money on your air conditioning expenses and energy bills? If yes, then you’ve come to the right place. In this post, we’re going to consider some of the common myths you shouldn’t buy into if you really wish to save some money on your air conditioning system. Let’s take a look!

    • The size of the system does not matter. This is one of the biggest mistakes you can make when purchasing an air conditioning system. A too large system will not only consume more energy meaning more higher heating bills, but will also keep turning off till it finally breaks down. And on the other hand, a system that’s too small would have to work harder to have your space cooled which means that it’ll wear down sooner. Consult a specialist in order to determine the right size of HVAC unit for your home.
    • Turn down the temperature for a faster cooling. The fact here is, your AC system works just as hard whether you lower it 4 degrees or 25 degrees. Therefore, getting the temperature you want is just a matter of time. Also, you can end up paying a higher bill if you set it lower than you need to and in the process you happen to forget about it. Here, using a programmable thermostat can save you money and you’ll also get the temperature you really want.
    • You don’t have to change the air filters. This is an idea you never buy into if you wish to save money. Air filters are usually inexpensive and can save you huge repair costs as well as heating bills on the long run. Normally, air filters should be replaced every 30 to 90 days by a specialist.
How to Choose the Right Air Conditioner Size for Your Conservatory?

When it comes to conservatory air conditioning, a huge mistake you’d not like to make is to purchase and install a wrong sized HVAC system. When that happens, not only will you be left unsatisfied, but you’d also end up incurring much more expenses than necessary. If you go for an AC unit that’s too small, it won’t be powerful enough to cool your conservatory as you would like. However, when you go ahead to select an oversized AC unit, your conservatory would be cooled relatively quick but will leave the air in the structure with excess humidity and consume more electricity as it’s going to cycle on and off which will ultimately cost you more money. In other words, it’s always a smart decision to take your time to calculate the right air conditioner size for your conservatory before you make a purchase decision. So how exactly can you go about the determination of the appropriate HVAC unit size for your conservatory? Let’s take a look!

    • Take the measurement of the conservatory’s square footage using a tape measure. If the space isn’t rectangular or square in shape, simply divide the conservatory in section comprising both squares and triangles which you can measure.
    • Calculate the conservatory’s square footage. For a square or rectangle, simply multiply the length by the width. However if your space is in another shape, you can determine the square footage of the triangular sections by multiplying 0.5 by length and width, and the sum each of the sections.
    • Determine the cooling capacity required for the space in question which is measured in British Terminal Units (BTUs)/hour. For more information to determine the BTUs needed depending on your conservatory size, simply visit the United States Department for Energy Star.
What are the Most Common Air Conditioning Mistakes?

If you live in the UK, you’d know by now that no matter what’s happening in the world around us, nothing is going to stop the heat from getting in. And that’s exactly more reason why a well functioning cooling system is more of a necessity than a luxury. Hence, we’ve put together this list to help you avoid common air conditioning mistakes this summer. Let’s take a look!

    • Not changing the filter. In the summer when the heat turns up there’s a huge need to change the air filters on a regular basis ( at least once a month). This is due to the fact that your air conditioning system works extra hard and runs all the time during the warmer months. What’s more? If you happen to have pets, a large family or live with an individual who suffers from asthma or allergies, it becomes a lot more important to change your air filters. Plus, a dirty filter is capable of increasing your energy cost within the range of 5 to 15 percent on a monthly basis.
    • Not having the right size. When it comes to air conditioning, there’s no one-size-fits-all approach. You simply have to purchase and install the right size for your property which is chiefly determined by the type of the dwelling, the home’s size and other factors.
    • Ignoring red flags. Calling in a technician isn’t always the most convenient thing to do especially when life gets a bit busier. However, when you choose to ignore warning signs that something is wrong with your HVAC system, you risk a total breakdown of the unit. What happens is the problem becomes an even more serious issue which will be very costly to repair or at times, replaced.
A Checklist for Buying Air Conditioning?

With the UK’s climate which can be harsh sometimes, getting an air conditioner is simply the best bet. Over here the summer months can get overbearingly hot, which does not stop the winter months from getting quite chilly. With a heating and cooling system installed in your home or property, you can easily lessen the effect of both situations, ensuring that your structure is relaxing and comfortable all year round. If you have also decided to get one and ready to take the plunge, then you’ve come to the right place. With a wide range of choices out there, there’s a need to have a checklist before you purchase a unit, in order to get one that’ll be just right for you. Let’s take a look!

    • Determine the kind of system that’s suitable for your home. We have 3 major types of air conditioning systems which includes split systems, multi split system and ducted systems. While the split system represents a great choice for those looking to heat or cool or single room or large area, the multi split system is designed to power up to 6 interior rooms at once. Finally, the ducted air conditioning systems which is usually fitted within the roof and from the central unit, a series of ducts heats or cools each rooms.
    • Consider the features of house. This includes the kind of house you own, the size of the room(s) you wish to heat or cool, whether it’s insulated, the number of windows the room(s) possess, the layout of the room(s) and lots more.
    • Your budget. Air conditioning is an investment which will often require a substantial initial outlay which can be recouped after a long period. The amount of money you can spare will play a huge role in the kind of system you’ll get.
