Loft conversions are proving to be increasingly popular in the UK. In most households the attic accounts for unused space which could be put to better use. Converting can turn the area into a bedroom, bathroom, playroom or even ensuite bedroom.
In actual fact there's lots of potential to converting your loft, such as added value for your home which can be up to 20%. Loft space conversions are also recommended over a property extension since the infrastructure has already been in place. Furthermore, you won't be removing any garden space.
If the loft space conversion would benefit your home and you're looking for more room, take a look at quotes from reliable companies within Immingham and get the best offer for the work you wish completed.

Immingham is a town, civil parish and ward in the North East Lincolnshire unitary authority of England. It lies on the southwest bank of the Humber Estuary, and is almost 6 miles (10 kilometres ) north-west from Grimsby. The region was mostly unpopulated and undeveloped up until the start of the 1900s, when the Great Central Railway began forming its Immingham Dock. The docks were connected to their significant supply of labour in Grimsby by the Grimsby and Immingham Electric Railway, which opened 1912. In conjunction with the development of the new port some wood framed, corrugated iron clad housing was created. A variety of these continued to operate into the 21st century, and one of these dated 1907 is now a listed structure. Due to the dock development, and of post-Second World War large scale industrial developments situated locally, Immingham progressed from a minor area into a prominent town through the 20th century. Basic housing especially expanded in the town. Throughout the 1960s, the town witnessed the construction and advancement of many brand-new side streets, a new estate encompassed by Pilgrim Avenue, and advancements along Pelham Road. Additional growth took place in the 1970s. This consisted of development of such areas as northwest of Pelham Road, with the village continuous towards Church Lane, a new estate southeast of Pilgrim Road, along with more infilling to the southwest. According to the 2011 Census, the town now has a permanent population of around 9642 and it is a compact city region of around 1 square mile. There is a variety of leisure and social options for its residents. These feature the retail centre, a pool and a golf club. For all your home upgrades, make certain to make use of respected experts in Immingham to make certain of quality.

Planning permission is not normally needed for a loft conversion as they are covered by permitted development rights. A conversion company will tell you if you do and help you with this. For more information, see our article about planning permission.
If you’re having issues with the amount of space in your home and need an extra space without affecting your garden, loft conversion comes to mind. Not only is it a great solution to creating more living space within a home, but it’s also one of the most budget-friendly solutions you can count on to expand your space by thinking upwards rather than sideways. So if you’re thinking about converting your loft, one thing that almost immediately comes to mind is whether or not your house is suitable for loft conversion.
To answer the question of whether every house can have a loft conversion is a very simple one. Generally, not every house is suitable for loft conversion. This is due to the fact that each and every loft space - from the stairways below and floors to the rafters and the roof up above, is unique. Therefore, the best way to really figure out whether or not a house’s loft offers the potential for conversion is to get in touch with a loft specialist.
So what can make a house not suitable for a loft conversion? Let’s take a closer look!
✓ A house will not be suitable for a loft conversion if the height of the ceiling happens to be too low and it’ll not be possible to have it raised.
✓ If you do not own own the freehold to the loft space, you won’t be able to convert the loft. Surprisingly, this happens to be a common issue in London.
✓ You will not be able to convert your loft if you reside in a conservation area or in a listed building. But you can identify a design solution that’ll still comply with the conservation rules and keep planners happy.
When its impossible to build out and create more space sideways, why can’t you look upwards? As more and more homeowners in the UK are carrying out their loft conversion project, one question that keeps popping up is the amount of value the loft conversion can add to their homes. However, this is a question that is impossible to provide a single and precise answer to. This is because the value that’ll be generated by a loft conversion is largely dependent on a wide range of influencing factors. To give you a vague idea of the loft conversion value to a property, we’ve put forward a research carried out by industry experts so you can know what you’re in for.
Nationwide carried out a research which shows clearly that a loft conversion including an additional bedroom as part of the building plan will increase a house’s value by up to 21 percent. Since the number of rooms a house has is one of the main metrics for house valuations, loft conversion comes in pretty handy as it’s a great and easy way to convert your house from a 4 bedroom house to a 5 bedroom house prior to sale.
Apart from the financial value aspect, loft conversion also adds more value to your lifestyle which is very unlike nearly other financial investments you can make. More space in your house automatically means more storage or a new room as you wish. A new room can be for a growing family or probably to serve as a guest room. It can also be used as a study space or even an office especially with the rapidly growing rate of people working from home. With loft conversion, the possibilities in terms of value are simply endless!
Many types of loft are suitable for a loft conversion. In general, you will need at least 2.3 metres of headroom in your existing loft. This is to make sure there is enough headroom after the conversion. Speak to a conversion specialist about the probability and possibility of doing this in your house.
