North Berwick
North Berwick is a seaside town as well as former royal burgh in East Lothian, Scotland. It is positioned on the south shore of the Firth of Forth, about 20 miles (32 kilometres) east-northeast of Edinburgh. North Berwick became a classy vacation resort in the nineteenth century due to its two sandy bays, the East (or Milsey) Bay and also the West Bay, as well as continues to bring in holidaymakers. Golf links at the ends of each bay are open to visitors. The size and population of the town remained relatively stable till the 1970s, whereupon housebuilding started in earnest around the periphery of the town, initially to the south (1950s-- 70s), then a series of significant expansions to the west (1980s-present) along the line of the train. There is broach further growths focussing on "cost effective real estate" on the south side of the community. While the population could not have absolutely "exploded", home rates have. North Berwick constantly shows up on top of nationwide home rate studies, and like-for-like rates approach Edinburgh. North Berwick was provided as one of the most pricey seaside community in Scotland in 2006, and was second to St. Andrews in 2009.
