Gorebridge is a previous mining town in Midlothian, Scotland. The town obtains its name from the bridge across the River Gore, a tributary of the South Esk. It was the residence of Scotland's initial gunpowder mill, at the Gore Water, that began operating in 1794. Gorebridge has an annual Gala Day which always happens on the third Saturday in June.
