Doug Hughes founded our practice in 2001 with the aim of providing a first class quality architect and planning consultancy services based in Mid Wales. Within two years the practice had grown with architecture, building design and planning projects throughout Wales and England. While the geographical spread of our projects is still vast, our core values remain the same, wherever we have the pleasure to be working. And we do work in some wild places.

From our four offices at Newtown and Welshpool in Powys, Aberystwyth in Ceredigion, and Cardiff in South Wales, we work with clients throughout Wales, the border areas of Shropshire and Herefordshire, the West Midlands, M4 corridor and further afield. From remote and isolated countryside, to populated urban areas.

We are a close-knit team drawn from a variety of backgrounds and experience and this is reflected in the products and services we are able to deliver. We have been together as a team for a long time. We enjoy working in this wonderful part of the world. We enjoy learning and laughing with our clients. We enjoy creating their dream homes and properties - whether residential, commercial or industrial.

Our clients are always our primary concern. Whether it’s the house owner extending their family home for the first (and more often than not the last) time, to those that build houses again and again, we work with all of them. As experienced planning consultants we work with landowners and property developers looking to bring forward land, we are also lead adviser to local authorities and we work with our housing association partners identifying and co- partnering with them in developing often challenging sites.
