Start your projectTywyn, formerly meant Towyn, is a town, area, and also seaside resort on the Cardigan Bay shore of southern Gwynedd, Wales. It was formerly in the historical area of Merionethshire. It is famous as the place of the Cadfan Stone, a stone cross with the earliest well-known example of composed Welsh, and also the residence of the Talyllyn Railway. At the time of the 2001 census, 40.5% of the population were recorded as Welsh speakers. By the 2011 census this had reduced to 37.5%. These relatively high figures (offered the town's population density) mirror making use of both Welsh and English as the tool of guideline in Ysgol Penybryn, the town's primary school. An Estyn examination record in 2010 kept in mind that about 11% of the kids at the school originated from homes where Welsh was the primary language.
