Garve
Garve is a village on the Black Water river, in Ross-shire, and also is in the Highland Council area of Scotland. It is located 5 miles (8 km) northwest of Contin, on the A835, the main road to Ullapool on the west coast, close to where the A832 branches off in the direction of Achnasheen. The village is offered by the Garve train station, on the Kyle of Lochalsh Line, which goes across the A835 road on a level going across. In 1890 Garve was recommended as the starting-point of a train to Ullapool. The town has a primary school and hotel but no store. The village is within the Garve as well as District Community Council area. Garve and Area are served by the Garve and District Development Company, a business developed by the area throughout 2017.
