Abbots Langley
Abbots Langley is a considerably sized village in Hertfordshire in England with a population of 10,472. It is near to Watford and many people commute there, and it was part of the Watford Rural District. It is now in the Three Rivers District.
The first record of the village is in 1045 and it is recorded in the Domesday book, which noted that 19 families lived there at the time. The village sits on clay, so the water supply is bountiful.
Abbots Langley is perhaps most famous for being the birthplace of Pope Adrian IV, the only Englishman to ever become Pope. He was born Nicholas Breakspear in around 1100.
The village has a Methodist Church as well as the Church of St Lawrence the Martyr which has a 12th-century tower and Norman arches.
Near the south of Abbots Langley are Leavesden Film Studios, situated on the former Rolls-Royce airfield. Scenes from films including GoldenEye and Harry Potter have been filmed there.
If you need some improvements done in your property in Abbots Langley, always make sure that you get quotes from a range of trusted tradespeople before making a decision.
