Fort Augustus
Ft Augustus is a negotiation in the church of Boleskine and Abertarff, at the south-west end of Loch Ness, Scottish Highlands. The village has a population of around 646 (2001 ). Its economic climate is greatly reliant on tourism. Similar to most of the British Isles and also Scotland, Fort Augustus has an oceanic climate (Köppen: Cfb) with cool summertimes as well as light winters months. Like a great deal of the surrounding location, sunlight levels are reduced at around 1,000 hours per year as well as temperature levels are unforeseeable-- Fort Augustus holds the UK's joint lowest May temperature document of -9.4 ° C (15.1 ° F). This is the most up to date point in the run up to summer that such a reduced temperature level has actually been videotaped, suggesting it can come to be a frost catch on tranquil clear evenings because of its valley area. That very same reduced lying topography can also give rise to some high temperatures on occasion-- Ft Augustus held the UK daily heat record for 16 December for virtually 80 years.
