Manningtree
Manningtree is a town and civil parish in the Tendring area of Essex, England, which lies on the River Stour. It joins built-up areas of Lawford to the west and also Mistley to the eastern and the 3 parishes together are occasionally referred to as "Manningtree". Manningtree is a claimant for the title of smallest town in England. Manningtree has actually generally claimed to be the smallest town in England, and also in 2007 mayor Lee Lay-Flurrie claimed that this had actually been confirmed to her by the Census Customer Services, with 700 individuals in 20 hectares (making use of the high tide mark). Nevertheless both this figure as well as the 2011 census population for the civil parish of 900 is a lot greater than the 351 population of Fordwich in Kent. In April 2009 it was suggested that Manningtree needs to combine with Mistley and Lawford to develop a solitary church, losing its separate identification as a town. Since 2018 such a merging has actually not occurred and the community council presently claims to be the tiniest by area. Manningtree belongs to the selecting ward called Manningtree, Mistley, Litte Bentley as well as Tendring. The population of this ward at the 2011 census was 4,603.
