Boiler Grants in Bo'ness

Looking for an ECO boiler specialist in Bo'ness? Our ECO central heating boiler contractors in Bo'ness can give you the very best quotes for getting an ECO boiler installed.

With the rise in gas and electricity prices, increasing home energy efficiency has grown to become more and more important. And are you aware your boiler accounts for around 60% of your yearly energy bill?

This means that if it's inefficient, as thousands of central heating boilers are in Britain, you'll be wasting hundreds of pounds every year. Inefficient boilers perform at just 70%, whereas a replacement ECO boiler would operate at close to 95%.

And with the ECO boiler scheme you'll benefit from a no cost replacement boiler. The scheme is targeted at the country's most vulnerable homes, and that means you must meet specific requirements.

Are you looking for an ECO central heating boiler within Bo'ness? With a brand new boiler you'll immediately lower your energy expenses and then make sure your home's warmer throughout the year.

If you want an ECO central heating boiler, complete our quick form to find out whether you're entitled for a free of charge replacement in Bo'ness. Even if you don't match the requirements it's still recommended to replace your outdated central heating boiler system.

Average Eco boiler (hhrco) cost in Bo'ness

The regular cost of replacing your gas boiler is £2,500. Costs vary based upon the type and brand of boiler you choose as well as the business you decide to go with. For example, a small local business may be able to offer a better price than a large national company as they will have fewer overheads. It’s best to get a range of quotes from different boiler engineers so you can compare prices, reviews and references before going ahead.

Bo'ness

Bo'ness, officially called Borrowstounness, is a coastal parish in the Central Lowlands of Scotland. Before the enactment of the local government reforms at the end of the twentieth century, it was a part of the county of West Lothian. Positioned on a hillside on the south bank of the Firth of Forth inside the Falkirk council area, it's 16.9 miles to the northwest of Edinburgh and 7 miles east of Falkirk. As outlined by the 2001 Census, Bo'ness features a permanent population of 13,961, and estimates in 2008 have suggested that it has increased to around 14,500 residents. A large amount of the residents commute to work, mostly to Edinburgh, Glasgow and Flakirk, meaning that the town is predominantly a commuter town. One of several biggest employers is the Ineos petrochemical facility, which is situated by Grangemouth, which is close to the town. Bo'ness has lots of attractions that are famous with nearby residents and guests. Some examples include the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway, the Birkhill Fireclay Mine along with the remains of an engine house. Kinneil House, a original residence maintained by Historic Scotland, sits inside a public park and the grounds in which James Watt developed the steam engine. His workshop remains in ruins. The town also has a recently renovated Hippodrome Cinema, the oldest cinema in Scotland, constructed in 1912 and developed by a local architect and resident, Matthew Steele. For all of your home improvements, make sure that you work with trustworthy pros in Bo'ness to make sure that you get a great quality service.

    FAQs

    How do I re-pressurise a boiler?

Re-pressurising your boiler means that you allow more water to enter system via the filling loop. It can be easy to re-pressurise your boiler yourself. Always check your manual, but there are some simple steps you can take to restore pressure to your boiler:

    • Switch off your boiler and let it cool completely

    • Make sure both ends of your filling loop are attached

    • Open both valves to allow cold water into the system – you’ll hear it start to move

    • Look out for your pressure gauge to show 1.5 bar

    • Close both valves

    • Switch your boiler back on

    • Undo both ends of your filling loop and remove it. Remember some water might come out, so be ready to catch some spillage!

do i need a new boiler?

Ad hoc visits from your engineer to fix small issues with your heating system may actually seem cheaper and a lot more affordable, however when a boiler is ripe enough for a change these small issues are always never ending. Over some period of time, these small issues will inevitably get worse and the idea of “mend and make do will be an absolutely false economy. The best course of action in this sort of event is to find a replacement boiler to install as soon as possible. In this article, we’re going to give you some hints that’ll show you when your boiler needs to be replaced. Now let’s take a look!

✓ Insufficient hot water. Here, you’ll have to check the size of your hot water cylinder. It’s crucial to make sure that your boiler is rightly sized to power your heating as well as hot water circuit in line with your demands. You should always seek the advice of a heating expert who can recommend whether to fix or replace the boiler.

✓ Strange noises. It’s normal for components of the boiler to become worn or damaged over time. Replacing the particular component that’s causing the knocking or rattling may seem cost effective at first but more often than not, the noises usually signal a bigger issue which is likely to build up over time. Hence, it’ll be a lot more logical to replace the boiler itself.

✓ Regular repair of your boiler. It’s essential to have your heating system serviced by a Gas Safe engineer on an annual basis. However, when you have to call them more often than once a year for your yearly maintenance, it may be a wise decision to consider getting a replacement.

✓ Other events whereby you may need a new boiler includes when you can’t get the right temperature in your room, when the radiators don’t heat up as they should, when your boiler leaks and if your boiler still has a pilot light.

    what is a condensing boiler?

Condensing boilers are the in-thing when it comes to modern heating systems in UK homes and across the globe for a good reason. This is primarily due to the fact that condensing boilers happens to be highly efficient as it enables the fuel you’re burning to heat up your home go a lot further. Having a new high efficiency condensing boiler rather than an old G-rated non condensing boiler will not only enhance your heating controls, but also save you a lot of money annually. In this article, we’re going to take you through the basics of a condensing boiler. Let’s take a closer look!

If you’re interested in getting a greener and more efficient boiler, you simply can’t afford to look beyond a high efficiency condensing boiler. This is purely due to the fact that these condensing boilers happens to make a better use of the heat they’re able to produce from burning fuels like oil or gas ( in other words, they require less heat from the burner, which makes them a lot more efficient).

So how does a condensing boiler work? Unlike a non-condensing heat-nly boiler, some heat will be wasted in form of hot gases which are released from the flue. Meanwhile a condensing boiler captures some of the heat from these gases and puts them to use for heating up water that’s coming back from your central heating system. As a result, it requires just a minimal heat from the burner which make the boiler more efficient.

You should take note that all new modern boilers are condensing boilers. Therefore if you’re planning to replace an old boiler with a new one, you’ll definitely be buying a new condensing boiler and benefit from all the efficiency and savings that comes with it.

how long does it take to replace a gas boiler?

In the UK, more than 50 percent of the money paid for utility bills is aimed at heating and hot water costs as stated by the Energy Saving Trust. This also means that when you settle for an old or ageing boiler, you’ll have to unnecessarily incur high utility bill in order to heat your home and have hot water on demand. In this kind of situation, the most effective and practical solution is to fit a new gas boiler in your home. This will provide you several benefits such as improved efficiency and reliability as well as reduced operating costs.

However, the only drawback here is the fact that removing your old gas boiler and replacing it with a new gas boiler isn’t a 5 minute task. And as you would have expected, like many other home improvement project there’s always an element of disruption that you’ll have to put into consideration when fitting a new gas boiler system. Good news is, with a qualified and experienced heating companies, these disruptions can be kept at a minimum. So now let’s take a look at how long it’ll take to replace a gas boiler depending on the type.

✓ An existing combi boiler upgrade - Installation times may vary, but typically the removal of an existing combi boiler and installation of a new one will usually be completed in a day - about four to six hours.

✓ Converting a regular to a combi boiler - Due to the fact that these type of project is usually labour intensive, it’ll take longer to complete - about 2 days.

✓ First time installation of new boiler to a home. This will usually take about 3 or more days because new pipes and other tasks need to the installation will be carried out.
