Port Isaac
Port Isaac is a little angling town on the Atlantic coastline of north Cornwall, England, UK. The closest towns are Wadebridge and Camelford, both ten miles away. Port Gaverne, generally mistaken to be part of Port Isaac, is a neighboring hamlet that has its very own history. The significance of the Cornish name is "corn port", suggesting a sell corn from the cultivatable inland area. Because the 1980s, the village has served as backdrop to different tv productions, consisting of the ITV collection Doc Martin, and also is residence to the team Fisherman's Friends, sea-shanty vocalists. Port Isaac's pier was created throughout the reign of Henry VIII. A 1937 history stated, "... Tudor pier and breakwater have now accepted a solid new sea-wall balanced by an arm on the opposite side of the cove, and we do not doubt that the anglers sleep more comfortably in their beds on rainy evenings."
