Whyteleafe is a village in the area of Tandridge, Surrey, England, with a couple of roads dropping inside the London Borough of Croydon. The village, in a completely dry valley of the North Downs, has 3 railway stations (on 2 parallel lines). Neighbouring towns as well as towns include Woldingham, Caterham, Coulsdon, Warlingham, as well as Kenley. To the west are Kenley Aerodrome, Kenley Common (owned by the Corporation), Coxes Wood, as well as Blize Wood. To the eastern are Riddlesdown, the Dobbin, as well as Marden Park. The cemetery consists of tombs of airmen who died throughout WW2, posted at RAF Kenley close by. Due to the inclines the definition of a Warlingham Built-up Area taking in the eastern fifty percent of Whyteleafe, designed after the 2011 census for evaluation, including 9,092 citizens is somewhat strained yet shows a degree of financial reliance. The town name comes from the distinctive white bottom of the whitebeam trees growing in the area. In 1855 Nathaniel Glover bought White Leaf field and George Henry Drew later finished the building that was called "White Leafe House". By 1881 the surrounding area had actually come to be known as "Whiteleafe". Just like Kenley the history of its land before that was that of other parishes, in this situation Caterham and also to a lower level Warlingham and also Coulsdon. Its very first primary school was integrated in 1892, enlarged in 1900 as well as again in 1907. In 1911 the population of Whyteleafe was now larger than that of Warlingham village ... An area council high school for ladies has been established in this year (1911 ).
