Kenilworth
Kenilworth is a town and civil parish in the county of Warwickshire. It is positioned on Finham Brook, a tributary to the River Sowe, which joins the River Avon around 2 miles north-east of the centre of the town. The 2011 Census reported that the town has a population of 22413. Being 5 miles south-west of Coventry's city centre, Kenilworth is characterised as a dormitory town for commuters to Coventry, as well as to other neighboring cities and large towns, such as Birmingham and Leamington Spa. While it is close to the University of Warwick in Coventry, the student population of the town remains fairly small, consisting primarily of postgraduate students and staff at the university. The town is particularly renowned for the ruins and stunning gardens of Kenilworth Castle, which was established around 1120 in the Norman period, but continued to be occupied till the end of the Tudor period. From 1983, Kenilworth Rotary Club has arranged a fun run in June in between Warwick Castle and Kenilworth Castle, referred to as the 2 Castles Run, which draws in increasing numbers of participants, with 3000 entrants in 2010 and 4000 in 2011. Kenilworth Abbey in Abbey Fields Park, St. Nicholas' Parish Church, and Kenilworth Clock, in addition to The Cross, a Michelin Star pub, are additionally attractive places for travelers and visitors to the town. Kenilworth is the home of many independent retailers and businesses, but the streets are progressively filled by high street stores, offering its inhabitants and visitors numerous possibilities to shop. For all of your house upgrades, make certain to make usage of reputable contractors in Kenilworth to make certain of quality.
