Cockermouth
Cockermouth is an old market community and also civil parish in the District of Allerdale in Cumbria, England, so called due to the fact that it goes to the convergence of the River Cocker as it flows right into the River Derwent. The mid-2010 census price quotes mention that Cockermouth has a population of 8,204, raising to 8,761 at the 2011 Census. Historically a part of Cumberland, Cockermouth is positioned outside the English Lake District on its northwest edge. Much of the architectural core of the community stays unmodified because the basic middle ages layout was filled out the 18th as well as 19th centuries. The regenerated market location is now a main historic focus within the town and shows occasions from its 800-year history. The community is prone to flooding as well as experienced severe floods in 2005, 2009, and also 2015.
