Torrington
Great Torrington (often shortened to Torrington, though the villages of Little Torrington and Black Torrington are situated in the exact same region) is a little market community in the north of Devon, England. Parts of it are sited on high ground with high drops down to the River Torridge listed below, with the lower-lying parts of the community prone to occasional flooding. Torrington remains in the centre of Tarka Country, a landscape recorded by Henry Williamson in his novel Tarka the Otter in 1927. Great Torrington has among one of the most active offering communities in the United Kingdom. In July 2019, Great Torrington was reported to be the healthiest place to reside in Britain. Researchers from the College of Liverpool located that the area had low degrees of contamination, great accessibility to green space and health services, together with couple of retail outlets.
