Campbeltown
Campbeltown (population 4,852) is a community as well as former royal burgh in Argyll as well as Bute, Scotland. It lies by Campbeltown Loch on the Kintyre peninsula. Originally called Kinlochkilkerran (an anglicization of the Gaelic, which suggests "head of the loch by the kirk of Ciarán"), it was renamed in the 17th century as Campbell's Community after Archibald Campbell (Earl of Argyle) was approved the site in 1667. Campbeltown ended up being an essential centre for Scotch whisky, and also a busy angling port.
