Barmouth
Barmouth is a town as well as neighborhood in the county of Gwynedd, north-western Wales, resting on the tidewater of the River Mawddach as well as Cardigan Bay. Located in the Historic county of Merionethshire, the Welsh type of the name is stemmed from "Aber" (tidewater) as well as the river's name, "Mawddach". The English type of the name is a corruption of the earlier Welsh kind 'Abermawdd'. The town is served by Barmouth railway station. The community grew around the shipbuilding sector, as well as a lot more recently as a seaside hotel. Noteworthy structures consist of the medieval Ty Gwyn tower house, the 19th century Ty Crwn roundhouse jail as well as St John's Church. William Wordsworth, a visitor to Barmouth in the 19th century, explained it thus: "With a great sea view in front, the hills behind, the wonderful estuary running eight miles [13 kilometres] inland, and Cadair Idris within compass of a day's walk, Barmouth can always hold its very own versus any competitor." Dinas Oleu (Citadel of Light), which lies east of the community on the adjacent hillside, was the first system of land to be given away to the National Depend on.
