Dymock

Dymock is a town and civil church in the Forest of Dean area of Gloucestershire, England, regarding four miles south of Ledbury. The parish had a recorded population of 1,214 at the UK Census 2011. In the town of Dymock there are several intriguing buildings which include cruck light beam cottages; "The White House", which was the native home of John Kyrle - the "Man of Ross" in 1637, Ann Cam School of 1825 as well as St Mary's Church, a jumble background in brick and also stone with Anglo-Norman origins. Nearby stands the only remaining village pub, which was bought by Parish Council to help preserve a successful town. The club is rented as well as run by a property manager and supported by a neighborhood fundraising as well as social board "Good friends of the Beauchamp Arms" (FOBA). Dymock provided its name to an institution of Romanesque sculpture first explained in guide The Dymock School of Sculpture by Eric Gethin Jones (1979 ). The school is kept in mind for its use stepped volute capitals and its decorative "tree of life" theme on tympana. A lead tablet computer inscribed with an elaborate 17th-century curse versus a female called Sarah Ellis was located in a home in Wilton Place. It is preserved in Gloucester's museum collection as "The Dymock Curse". Dymock is the genealogical residence of the Dymoke family that are the Royal Champions of England. It is assumed that the Dymokes initially lived at Knight's Eco-friendly, an area simply outside the village of Dymock.

FAQs

Does a smart TV need an aerial?

Generally speaking, you do need an aerial if you have a smart TV. This what will enable you to watch live TV. However, if you’re not bothered about live TV, and just want to use services like Netflix, Amazon Prime and Youtube, you don’t normally need a TV aerial. This is because these services use the internet instead.

What should I do if I’m experiencing poor TV signal quality?

If your TV picture is pixelated, poor quality, or cutting out, there may be a fault with your aerial or the cables connecting it to your TV. Also your aerial may not be located in the correct place. An experienced aerial company can carry out a survey to discover the fault.

How to install a TV aerial?

The process you need to go through to install a TV aerial depends on the type of aerial you have. If you have an indoor aerial, it’s simple. Just plug the aerial into your TV and stand it up next to it. If the signal isn’t right, then try moving your aerial closer to a window or higher up. Make sure you rescan for channels every time you move it so you know if you’ve made an improvement. It’s also fairly easy to install a loft TV aerial – just take it up into your loft and position it in a convenient place. Again, experiment with angles and positions to ensure you get the best signal. Installing an outdoor TV aerial is a little trickier. Ideally, try to fix your aerial to a wall or chimney at a gable end – this will be much easier to access than a chimney in the middle of the roof. Follow the instructions that come with your aerial for mounting it – it’s usually best to lash your aerial on rather than use screws. If you’re not used to working at height or aren’t confident doing your own aerial installation work, it’s best to get in touch with a professional.

Can I receive a satellite signal using an aerial?

No, you will need a satellite dish to receive a satellite signal for services like Sky or Freesat, as these are specific channels and programmes only broadcast via this medium. These can be installed in a similar way to a standard TV aerial by a recognised engineer.
