Lossiemouth
Lossiemouth is a community in Moray, Scotland. Originally the port coming from Elgin, it ended up being an essential fishing community. Although there has been over 1,000 years of settlement in the area, the here and now day community was formed over the past 250 years and also includes four different communities that ultimately combined into one. From 1890 to 1975 it was a cops burgh as Lossiemouth and Branderburgh. Stotfield, the very first substantial settlement (discounting Kinneddar which has now gone away), lies to the north west of the town. Branderburgh created the final growth during the 19th century. This part of the town developed completely as a result of the new harbour with its 2 basins, as well as ultimately covered the whole Coulard Hill; it has an impressive account when seen from a distance.
