The cost of your awning or canopy mainly depends on its size and location. It also depends on its mechanism if you go for a retractable awning â motorised ones are almost always more expensive than manual ones. The typical cost of an awning or canopy project is about £1,000, but yours could end up being more or less.

Abercastle is a village in the Welsh speaking area of Pembrokeshire, Wales. It has a working harbour which Abercastle Boat Owners Association looks after. It is an old trading harbour which exported slate, grain, limestone, butter, honey, corn and coal.
Abercastle harbour was the landing site of Alfred Johnson, the first person to make a lone Atlantic crossing. He landed at Abercastle in August 1876, sixty days after setting sail in Gloucester, Massachusetts. A commemorative plaque made of Welsh slate on the quay wall was unveiled by Johnson's grandson in 2003.
Half a mile west of Abercastle lies Carreg Samson, which is a 5000 year old Neolithic Burial Chamber and the place of over 1000 burials. It has a cap stone 15 feet long and 9 feet wide held up by three upright stones. Locals called it Samson because of a legend that Samson placed it in position with his little finger.
The wreck of the Leysian lies on the west side of the harbour, around 50m from the cliffs. It is popular with divers who say that lots of fish live in there. It's also thought that a small shark frequents the wreckage.

A retractable awning can be a great addition to the outside of your home or business. They fold or roll neatly into a cassette, so they don’t take up space when you don’t need them. Some have articulated arms, while others have telescopic arms.
When you get an awning, you can choose between a manual and an automatic one. Manual ones have a handle or crank that you wind to fold it in and out, while automatic ones have a motor.
If you have an older canopy or have experienced a significant amount of rain recently, you might notice water pooling on your canopy. This is probably because there is some slack in your canopy, which allows water to collect instead of draining it off. See if there are places on your canopy frame where you can tighten it to keep it taught, and this should solve the problem.
An awning usually attaches to an exterior wall of your home, business or outbuilding, or to the outside of a boat, campervan or caravan. It acts as an extra piece of roof or covering to shelter people from sun, rain or wind when they’re outside.
Lots of awnings are retractable, with either a manual or automatic folding mechanism. You also get static awnings that are up permanently. You often find awnings fixed over the top of doors or windows.
If you’re considering getting an awning for the outside of your home or business, it’s vital to make sure it’s the correct size. This will help you get the right amount of shelter or shade you need, and ensure it looks great.
To get the best results, get your awning from a company who comes out to your property to measure. They’ll be experienced at doing this accurately, and will be able to add clearance distances where required. They might also be able to suggest the best designs to suit your property and needs.
