Bognor Regis

Bognor Regis is a seaside resort town and civil parish in the traditional county of Sussex on the south coast of England. It is administratively inside the Arun district of the non-metropolitan county of West Sussex, and suburbs of the town include the villages of Felpham, Alwick, and North and South Bersted. While the town has an oceanic climate which is similar to the whole of the United Kingdom, it receives over 1900 hours of sunshine typically, which is the highest known annual degree of sunshine in Britain. The coastal location of the town also removes the risk of intense temperatures; since 1960, the temperatures recorded at Bognor have never dropped below -9.4 Celsius or risen above 31.5C, in comparison with other places inside the Sussex Weald dropping below -15 Celsius and increasing above 35 Celsius. From 1864, several wealthy Victorian households appeared in the town and a seaside resort was subsequently established by Sir Richard Hotham. Since the beginning of the 1930s, an amusement park plus a zoo have been established, and a vacation camp from the 1960s has led the town towards extra hotel accommodation with contemporary amenities. The population of Bognor steadily increased over the course of the twentieth century, being at approximately 64,000 as recorded in the 2011 census. The post-war period saw partial industrial redevelopment, particularly in the 1960s following the construction of a brand new shopping parade, health centre and high-rise block of flats. The town centre is mostly pedestrian friendly, creating an incredibly accessible buying experience for the town's inhabitants and tourists.
