Canterbury
Canterbury is among the most well-known cities in the country, having a strong link to the Christian religion and it is the Archbishop of Canterbury's house also. Other famous names include Thomas Beckett and Christopher Marlowe. Canterbury was highly targeted by German bombers during World War Two, and so offers a range of both pre and post-war housing, but the cobbled streets and small back alleys remain from centuries ago. Canterbury is the sole city in Kent and has now a very small population of close to 60,000.
