Coleford
Coleford is a little market town in the west of the Forest of Dean, Gloucestershire, England, 2 miles (3.2 kilometres) east of the Welsh border and near the Wye Valley. It is the management centre of the Forest of Dean district. The combined population of the two electoral wards in Coleford at the 2011 census was 8,359. Coleford adapted more competently to the mine closures of the 1950s than its neighbor Cinderford. Today its prime location in the heart of the Forest makes it prominent with walkers and bikers, and also the regional council has made moves to encourage more visitors. The huge manufacturing facility in the community, originally called Carters, after that Beechams, after that GlaxoSmithKline, is now possessed by the Japanese company Suntory. It is the single production facility for Ribena and also Lucozade. One old structure that has actually made it through is the previous goods shed for the defunct train line to Monmouth; it is currently the Coleford GWR Museum. SPP Pumps Ltd, Britain's leading pump manufacturer also has their main UK producing site at Coleford which has over 300 people on site. The factory generally deals with the Industrial and offshore firefighting oil and gas markets as well as the UK municipal water market.
