Dunmow
Great Dunmow is a historic market town as well as civil parish in the Uttlesford district of Essex, England. It is located on the north of the A120 road, around midway between Bishop's Stortford and also Braintree, 6 miles east of London Stansted Airport. Initially the site of a Roman negotiation on Stane Street, the community thrived throughout the Middle Ages. Numerous buildings survive from this period, including a sixteenth-century city center. Dunmow means "Meadow on capital". [4] The negotiation was otherwise referred to as Dunmow Magna, Much Dunmow, or the majority of commonly Great Dunmow. Great Dunmow surrounds the former estate of Easton Lodge in the neighbouring parish of Little Easton, a country house coming from the Maynard family. One of the most noteworthy member, Frances Maynard, became the Countess of Warwick and later on a girlfriend of King Edward VII. As the Prince of Wales he was reportedly a normal site visitor to the Estate, travelling from London on the train to Easton Lodge railway station. The initials "CW" show up on a variety of Victorian age properties in Great Dunmow. Called Daisy Greville, Countess of Warwick she was a generous philanthropist in the regional community. Since 2018, Robert Nicholson is Emeritus Mayor of Great Dunmow.
