Erskine

Erskine is a town in the council area of and county of Renfrewshire. It lies in the West Central Lowlands of Scotland, lying on the southern edge of the River Clyde. The town is most typically acknowledged for the Erskine bridge, which is the outermost west crossing point on the river, where it eventually expands to become the Firth of Clyde estuary. Being in the west of the Greater Glasgow conurbation, the town borders Bishopton and Renfrew, Inchinnan, Paisley and Glasgow International Airport. Because of this, it has come to be primarily a commuter town. In accordance with the 2011 Census, the town boasts a permanent population of around 15347, showing its considerable growth from being a small village settlement. The town's development into exactly what it is today started from the middle of the 20th century when the Renfrewshire County Council proposed its 'New Community' scheme, which saw the population surge to 3000 residents. The building of a mixture of independently owned and leased accommodation in 1971 made it possible for the population to grow to 10000. Despite most of the residents being commuters, retail has a substantial role to play in the economy. The town's Bridgewater complex offers a wide array of independent and commercial chain stores, restaurants, fast food outlets, a butchers and an opticians, to name but a few. A number of other smaller retail sites can also be found in the town. Readily available to locals are also many leisure and sports activities. There are 2 exclusive golf courses and a play centre for children, together with a number of playing fields and a sports centre. In 2014, it was ranked one of the most attractive postcode areas to live in Scotland. For all of your home upgrades, make sure to make use of trustworthy professionals in Erskine to make certain of quality.
