East Cowes
East Cowes is a town and civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the eastern bank of the River Medina next to its neighbour on the west financial institution, Cowes. The two towns are attached by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferry operated by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, as well as Osborne House, the previous summertime house of Queen Victoria as well as Prince Albert. The Prince had a significant influence on the style of the location, as an example on the structure of St Mildred's Church in nearby Whippingham, which includes distinct turrets copying those located on a German castle.
