Amlwch
Amlwch is one of the most northerly community in Wales as well as is an area. It is positioned on the north coast of the Isle of Anglesey, on the A5025 which links it to Holyhead and also to Menai Bridge. Along with Amlwch community and also Amlwch Port, other settlements within the community include Burwen, Porthllethog/Bull Bay and also Pentrefelin. The community has a coastline in Llaneilian, and also it has considerable seaside cliffs. Tourist is an important element of the local economic situation. At once it was a growing mining community that became the centre of a vast international trade in copper ore. The harbour inlet became an active port and also substantial shipbuilding and ship repair centre, as well as a departure point with watercrafts sailing to the Isle of Guy and to Liverpool. The name Amlwch-- a referral to the site of the community's harbour, Porth Amlwch-- stems from Welsh am ("around, on or around") and llwch (an old word meaning "inlet, creek" - similar to the Gaelic word "loch" for a body of water). On 23 November 1981, the very first tornado of the record-breaking 1981 United Kingdom tornado outbreak, an F1/T2 tornado, travelled through Amlwch. At the 2011 census the area had a population of 3,789.
