Banchory
Banchory is a burgh or community in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. It is about 18 miles (29 km) west of Aberdeen, near where the Feugh River fulfills the River Dee. Banchory is the largest community in the area and has a High Street. There are a number of hotels as well as dining establishments including the Stag Resort, Scott Skinners Bar as well as Restaurant, the Burnett Arms, as well as the Douglas Arms. The shops include newsagents, sporting activities shops as well as drug stores. Since the 1970s, the town has expanded steadily. Because 2001 there has been rapid development. A huge forested area 'capital of Banchory', possessed by the Burnett family (proprietors of Crathes Castle), to the north east of the community has actually been replaced by a large housing estate and also an increase of new locals. The Hill of Banchory primary school was opened in 2006 to cater for the raised population.
