Bodmin

Bodmin is a civil parish and significant town in Cornwall, England, UK. It is to the south-west of Bodmin Moor. The scale of the civil parish corresponds relatively closely to that of the town so is mostly urban in character. It is bordered to the east by Cardinham parish, towards the southeast by Lanhydrock parish, to the southwest and west by Lanivet parish, and towards the north by Helland parish. Bodmin Town Council is made up of 16 councillors who are elected to each serve a term of four years. Each year, the Council elects 1 of its number as Mayor to serve as the town's civic leader and to run council meetings. Bodmin Beacon Local Nature Reserve is the hill overlooking the town. The reserve features 83 acres (33.6 hectares) of public land and at its highest point, it reaches a total of 162 metres with a distinctive landmark at the top.
