Caersws
Caersws is a town and also neighborhood on the River Severn, in the Welsh area of Powys (Montgomeryshire) 5 miles (8 kilometres) west of Newtown, as well as halfway in between Aberystwyth and Shrewsbury. It has a station on the Cambrian Line from Aberystwyth to Shrewsbury. At the 2001 census it had a population of 1,526, boosting slightly to 1,586 at the 2011 Census. In modern-day Welsh, Caersws actually suggests "Fort Kiss", although sws almost certainly originates from some other source. It has been suggested that the site might maintain a Roman-era dedication to Zeus or maintain the name of a conjectured British queen Swswen.
