Ashbourne

Ashbourne is a market town within the Derbyshire Dales in England. Because of its proximity to the southern edge of the Peak District and being the nearest town to the well-liked area of Dovedale, the town is referred to as both the 'Gateway to Dovedale' and also the 'Gateway to the Peak District'. This has meant that tourism has always been critical for the town's economy. Based on the 2011 Census, the town boasts a permanent population of around 8377 people. It contains several historical buildings and several independent shops and is well-known for its historic yearly Shrovetide football match. The cobbled marketplace hosts a traditional outdoor market every Thursday and Saturday throughout the year, complementing the large range of individual shops within the town. Despite the fact that its market heritage is very important, Ashbourne's market was under threat of closure from Derbyshire County Council in November 2012. Residents of Ashbourne have stood against any such moves by the council and started an online petition. Ashbourne became the 97th Fairtrade Town in March 2005 soon after many local businesses, cafes, shops and community organisations started supporting Fairtrade. Ashbourne features a considerable number of public houses for such a little town centre. Currently, there are 10 pubs open, along with two social clubs. The famous and rare 'gallows' sign across St John's Street is still central meeting point within the town. Local historians have noted that nearly 1 in 4 buildings within the town have at one time or another been an alehouse, pub or inn or were redeveloped on the site of such an establishment. For all your residence improvement jobs, be certain that you utilise reliable pros in Ashbourne to make sure that you get the top quality service.

FAQs

How do I know when I need more fuel delivering for my LPG boiler?

Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.

What’s LPG?

LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.

Where can I put an LPG storage tank?

Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.

How do I get fuel for my LPG boiler?

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
