Bewdley

Bewdley is a little waterfront community and civil church in the Wyre Forest District of Worcestershire on the Shropshire boundary in England, along the Severn Valley 3 miles (4.8 kilometres) west of Kidderminster and also 22 miles (35 kilometres) southwest of Birmingham. [1] It rests on the River Severn, at the gateway of the Wyre Forest national nature reserve, and at the time of the 2011 census had a population of 9,470. Bewdley is a preferred tourist destination and also is understood for the Bewdley Bridge designed by Thomas Telford. The almost all of Bewdley community is located on the western bank of the River Severn, consisting of the primary street-- Load Street-- whose name derives from lode, an old word for ferryboat. Load Street is notable for its width: this is since it once likewise served as the town's market location. The majority of Bewdley's shops and also features are situated along Load Street, on top of which exists St Anne's Church, built between 1745 and 1748 by Doctor Thomas Woodward of Chipping Campden. Beyond the church, High Street leads off to the south towards Stourport along the B4194, a road understood locally as "the switchback" because of its numerous undulations. Unlike in many English communities, High Street is so called not due to its relevance, but because of its geographical setting 'high' above the river. On the other side of the church, Welch Gate (so called due to the fact that it once consisted of a tollgate on the road in the direction of Wales) climbs considerably up to the west, while Dowles Road, a continuation of the B4194 leads northwest to Dowles and also towards the Wyre Forest. To the northeast of the town is the wooded hill of Wassel Wood in Trimpley, the southern terminus of Shatterford Hill. In the location in between Stourport as well as Bewdley there are several huge lodge, amongst which Witley Court, Astley Hall and Pool House are specifically significant.

FAQs

Where can I put an LPG storage tank?

Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.

How do I know when I need more fuel delivering for my LPG boiler?

Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.

What’s LPG?

LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.

How do I get fuel for my LPG boiler?

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
