Caernarfon is a royal town, community, and port in Gwynedd, Wales, with a population of roughly 9,615. It is along the A487 road, on the eastern shore of the Menai Strait, opposite the Isle of Anglesey. The city of Bangor is 8.6 miles (13.8 km) towards the north east, whilst Snowdonia borders Caernarfon to the east and south-east. Carnarvon and Caernarvon are Anglicised versions of the name which became old fashioned in 1926 and 1974, respectively. The villages of Bontnewydd and Caeathro are nearby. Abundant natural resources close to the Menai Straits enabled human habitation in prehistoric Britain. The Ordovices, a Celtic tribe, settles in the location during the period referred to as Roman Britain. The Roman fort Segontium was created around AD 80 to control the Ordovices throughout the Roman conquest of Britain. The Romans occupied the area until the end of Roman rule in Britain in 382, after which Caernarfon became a part of the Kingdom of Gwynedd. In the late 11th century, William the Conqueror ordered the construction of a motte-and-bailey castle at Caernarfon as part of the Norman invasion of Wales. He was unsuccessful, and Wales remained independent till around 1283. In the 13th century, Llywelyn ap Gruffudd, ruler of Gwynedd, refused to pay homage to Edward I of England, prompting the English conquest of Gwynedd. This was followed by the building of Caernarfon Castle, among the largest and most imposing fortifications built by the English in Wales. The city has grown to be a significant tourist centre and seat of Gwynedd Council, with a busy harbour and marina. Caernarfon has grown beyond its medieval walls and experienced heavy suburbanisation. Its population contains the biggest percentage of Welsh-speaking citizens anywhere in Wales. The castle and town walls are a part of a World Heritage Site described as the Castles and Town Walls of King Edward in Gwynedd. For all of your home improvement jobs, make sure that you utilise vetted pros in Caernarfon to ensure you get a fantastic quality service at a great price.

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.
Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.
LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.
Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.
