Fraserburgh is a town in Aberdeenshire, Scotland. According to the 2001 Census, the town has a permanent resident population of around 12454, with estimates in 2006 suggesting a figure of 12630. The name of the town means, literally, 'burgh of Fraser', after the Fraser family that acquired the lands of Philorth in 1504 and thereafter brought about notable advancement due to financial investment over the next century.
