March

March is a Fenland market town and civil parish in the Isle of Ely area of Cambridgeshire, England. March was the county town of the Isle of Ely, which was a separate administrative county between 1889 and 1965. It is now the administrative centre of Fenland District Council. Similar to several Fenland towns, March was originally an island surrounded by marshes. It occupied the second largest 'island' in the Great Level. As the land drained, the town grew and prospered as a trading and religious centre. It was also a minor port before becoming, in more recent times, a market town and an administrative and train centre. March is located on the banks of the old course of the navigable River Nene, and today typically used by pleasure boats. The town's progression took place most quickly when it came to be an important train centre. It had a main junction in between the Great Eastern Railway and Great Northern Railway at March railway station, permitting ease of access to and from London, Cambridge and Ely. In particular, March Royal Mail sorting office, in the past a full post office dates from 1936, is unusual because it is among a few post offices that display the royal cypher from the short reign of Edward VIII. There are plenty of shopping options for the 19042 residents of March. March Town Centre is the home of a wide variety of independent and commercial chain stores. A retail park opened in 2008, extending the capability to go shopping in superstores and supermarkets. Dispersed throughout the town are also several restaurants, bars and pubs. For all your home upgrades, make sure to make use of reputable specialists in March to make certain of quality.

FAQs

How do I get fuel for my LPG boiler?

If you choose to install an LPG boiler, you’ll need to find an LPG supplier. They’ll deliver fuel to you every time your storage tank runs low. You can even rent a storage tank from them if you don’t want to buy one. Make sure you know who your local suppliers are and where they are based.

Where can I put an LPG storage tank?

Your LPG storage tank will need to go outside your property, possibly underground if you have limited space. There are planning rules that restrict where you can put your tank, especially if your property is listed or on designated land. Take a look at our planning permission article to find out more.

What’s LPG?

LPG stands for liquid petroleum gas. It’s a by-product of refined crude oil. When it’s put under pressure, LPG turns into a liquid. It’s usually stored in this form. LPG is used as fuel for things like BBQs and camping stoves, as well as central heating.

How do I know when I need more fuel delivering for my LPG boiler?

Your LPG storage tank should have a gauge that shows you how much fuel it has in it. Most LPG suppliers suggest that you arrange a fuel delivery when the level in your tank gets down to about 20%. Make regular checks, particularly in the winter when you will use more, so you know when levels are low.
