There is a lot of history behind Aberffraw. There is a Neolithic burial chamber situated there called Barclodiad y Gawres. The village also has a small island called Cribinau with the 13th century church of Saint Cwfan on top. The church is still used for the occasional wedding and summer services. St Beuno's Church on Aberffraw itself is from the 12th century and is a Grade II* listed building.
Bae Trecastle, or Cable Bay, is on the Anglesey Coastal Path and its beach was awarded the Blue Flag rural beach award in 2005. It is popular with holidaymakers and residents alike.
