Smoke Alarm in County Durham

Smoke alarms are essential for every home. Every year, the Fire and Rescue Service go to more than 600,000 fires which lead to over 800 deaths. These incidents could be prevented by having smoke alarms placed in each property or business premises. Smoke alarms are self-contained devices that detect a fire and sound an alarm. They should be fitted to the ceiling, though in some properties you may see them fitted at the top of a wall. They're able to detect fires in their early stages, giving you time to react to a fire. There are various kinds of smoke alarms and they can be battery-powered or wired to the mains electricity. Alarms that are powered by the mains are thought to be safer as you do not need to be concerned about changing the batteries when they run out. Providing you do not have a power cut, the smoke alarm should detect fires and keep you and your household safe. An electrician will help you install a smoke alarm and connect it to your mains power.
