East Cowes
East Cowes is a town and civil parish to the north of the Isle of Wight, on the east financial institution of the River Medina alongside its neighbour on the west financial institution, Cowes. Both towns are linked by the Cowes Floating Bridge, a chain ferry operated by the Isle of Wight Council. East Cowes is the site of Norris Castle, and Osborne House, the previous summertime residence of Queen Victoria and also Prince Albert. The Prince had a significant influence on the design of the location, as an example on the building of St Mildred's Church in close-by Whippingham, which features distinct turrets copying those discovered on a German castle.
